Dream Sequence
NIDA Space Theatre, Sydney, 2026
A machine that turns spoken dreams into visual spectacularia.
Dream Sequence is an installation built around the dream well, a ring of hanging metal strands around a lit core, about two metres across. A visitor sits beside the well and tells a dream they remember. Software built by BBT answers with a few calm questions, then turns the telling into a moving image.
Each image joins the dreamscape around the well, and as more dreams come in, the images settle into one shared dream. Audiences sat and lay on low seating around the well, and could add a dream or simply watch, staying as long as they liked.
BBT developed the work through 2025 and presented it at a public showcase in NIDA's Space Theatre on 10 February 2026.
